Chepkirui lead Jemutai for gold and bronze at world under 20

Purity Chepkirui was on top of her game, winning the 7th gold for Kenya at the World under 20 championships at the Kasarani stadium.

Chepkirui led another Kenyan Winnie Jemutai to win bronze with Ethiopian Diribe Welteji who managed squeeze in between for a silver medal.

The youngster crossed the finish line in 4:16.07 with Jemutai winning bronze after timing 4:18.89 while Welteji won silver after clocking 4:16.39.

Jepkirui battled with Diribe Welteji overpowering her at the 50m mark to snatch the gold in 4:16.07 with the Ethiopian coming in second 32 seconds later.
