Beatrice Chepkoech and Mary Moraa recorded victories at yesterday’s sixth leg of the Diamond League meetin in Lausanne.
The world 3,000m steeplechase record holder broke the meeting record to win the women’s 3000m steeplechase title in 9:05.98.
Chepkoech was joined by world U20 silver medallist Sembo Almayew, who set the world lead of 9:00.71 to win in Florence at the start of the month, but they were both happy to sit behind the pace lights indicating a world-leading tempo.
Moraa danced with delight after a decisive 800m win in 1:57.43.
