Former world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Jackline Chepkoech won the Commonwealth Games 3,000m steeplechase title in Birmingham, England.
She set the championships record 9:15.68 beat Briton Elizabeth Bird and Uganda’s Olympic champion Peruth Chemutai to second and third places in 9:17.79 and 9:23.24 respectively.
Chepkoech’s gold is the second for team Kenya after Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala won the 100m title.
