Chepkwony set new record at Rome marathon

Betty Chepkwony won the Rome Marathon held today in Rome, Italy.

The 28 year old Kenyan won the race in 2:23.01 ahead of Ethiopia’s Fozya Jemal and Zinash Getachew in 2:25.08 and 2:25.58 respectively.

The race course record of 2:22.52 that was set in 2019 by Ethiopia’s Alemu Megertu remains standing.

Allam edged out Kenyans Wilfred Kigen and Rogers Keror to second and third places in 2:08:45 and 2:10:50 respectively on a cool cloudy day in the Italian capital
