Newly crowned World marathon record holder Ruth Chepngetich will highlight the Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana 10km race on the new year’s eve.
Chepngetich, who set the mixed women world record title when she won Chicago marathon at 2:09.56, will be up against former world marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei on December 31st in Madrid, Spain.
Kosgei, who holds the course record at 29:54 will be up against Chepngetich, with both the winners of Chicago marathon.
Others in the women race will include Ethiopian Adawork Aberta Kenyan born turned Mexican Risper Besabwa among others.
