Cheptil, Kwanthanze storm into East Africa school games semis

National volleyball champions Kwanthanze and former champions Cheptil have qualified into the semi-final of the ongoing East Africa Secondary schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) in Arusha, Tanzania.

The two Kenyan champions won their third matches consecutively to secure the best four slots.

Today, cheptil beat Rwandans Indangaburezi in straight sets of 25-08, 25-21 and 25-11. The reigning bronze medallist initially beat compatriots Soweto and Ugandas Trust school in similar sets.

Kwanthanze who are the title defending champions registered wins in all their mathes.

In football, Kenyan champions St. Anthony’s High school registered their second win with 3-0 thrashing of Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi.

The win was a Good recovery for 2002 champions who had lost the second match to reigning champions Buddo from Uganda and beat Tanzanian Lindi secondary 4-0 in the opener.

Today Daniel Odhiambo, Alphonse Omondi and Issa Lumumba were on target for Solidarity Boys.

Returnees Itigo registered their second draw against Tanzanian Kibasila. A win against Kawempe will secure them an automatic tickets into the knockout. They beat hosts Alliance 2-0 and drew one all over Remera Rukoma.
