Cherono, Kamworor, Chepngetich and Jeptum to named to compete at World championships

World marathon champion Ruth Chepngetich and Valencia marathon champion Lawrence Cherono will be leading Kenyan marathoners at the World champions in Oregon, USA.

Today, the Athletics kenya named the athletes as they begin to prepare for their races.

Chepngetich will lead women dontingent that has the newly crowned Paris marathon champion Judith Jeptum, 2021 Amsterdam marathon silver medalist Maureen Jepkemoi and Angela Tanui as reserve.

Cherono, both Boston and Chicago marathon champion will lead two time New York City marathon champion Geoffrey Kamworor, 2021 Milano marathon second placed Barnabas Kiptum while former world marathon champion Geoffrey Kirui, who has been battling with injuries will be on bench.
