Chespol out as Jeruto claim steeplechase title in Oregon

Two time world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Celliphine Chespol Chepteek produced her poor performance to finish number 13 at the ongoing world Athletics championships in Oregon, USA.

As the only Kenyan at the finals, Chespol allowed Kenyan-born turned Kazakhstan Norah Jeruto to win the women’s 3,000 metres steeplechase title with a Championship Record of 8:53.03 to take the gold, with Ethiopians Werkuha Getachew and Mekides Abebe take silver and bronze respectively

Another Kenyan-born Bahrain star Wilfred Mutile Yavi settled in 4^th.
