Chespol, Yosei retain Kenya Prisons Cross Country titles

Two time world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Celliohine Chespol and Africa Cross Country champion Charles Mneira Yosei triumphed at today’s Kenya Prisons Cross Country championships held at the Kenya Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru.

Chespol, also the Africa cross country champion won the title in 32:42.82, reclaiming her title she last won in 2019.

Brillian Jepkorir was second in 33:46.82 with Abigael Chelangat completing the podium in 34:01.11.

Running for Eastern, Yosei won the men’s title in 30:06.5 ahead of 2017 Africa under 1,500m bronze medalist Boaz Kiprugut for second in 30:08.5 and former Africa 10,000m silver medalist Wilfred Kimitei completed the podium with 30:17.7.
