Chipu whip Uganda again as Barthes 20 Cup kicks off in Nairobi

Chipu, the national under 20 rugby 15s aside humiliated Uganda in the opening match of Barthes Cup, the Africa Under Rugby championships played at the Nyayo stadium.

The ‘battle for Migigo’ saw Kenya U20 beat Uganda U20 44-20 in the final quarterfinal, which was lo3wer than the last edition where Kenya were 54-20 winners before losing to Namibia 16-5 in the semis to settle for bronze with 49-15 win over Madagascar.

In other match of the day, defending champions Zimbabwe defeated Cote d’Ivoire 55-0.

Zimbabwe who stunned Namibia 19-14 in last year’s final were 31-0 up at half-time.

Winners of the eight-nation annual competition will be crowned African champions as well as book a ticket at the World U-20 Trophy slated for July this year at Nyayo Stadium.
