Top coaches from different sporting disciplines have benefitted from 3Dimension coaching course held today in Eldoret.
The training, which targeted Eldoret based clubs under the umbrella of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), were trained on the importance of training an athlete in three different dimension as a way of bring up quality athletes in future.
Leading the contingent was the Kenya’s FCA leader Moses Muge, who said that their major aim is to see the world changed through Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes who play a critical role in the current generation.
With his his experience of coaching for 15 years, Muge said the 3Dimension coaching is to train coaches and see life in three dimensions.
The three include the fundamentals of a sport like body, tactics, running, skills, the speed and drills in the first dimension.
“There is a lot in the second and third dimension. In the second dimension psychological training where the coach provides hope for players, confidence and setting goals while in third is strengthening athletes’ heart,” said Muge.
He said training coaches’ character is fundamental following a survey done some years back that realized some coaches are not character coaches yet they are influential people in the society.
“The coaches are more influential than some parents to the youth in our society. We felt that if we impact and train the coaches to do the right since they have influence and hey impact many people and can use that influence to be better coaches and influence other people.
“If you coach the heart, anytime you find that players will perform better recover to injuries faster, they understand skills quickly,” he added.
