Commonwealth Games: Oscar Ouma, Philadelphia Olando to captain rugby teams

Top Fry Nakuru RFC Oscar Ouma and Philadelphia Olando will captain the Shujaa and Kenya Lionesses at the Commonwealth Games set for next month in Gold Coast, Australia.

Ouma will maintain the armband following his good performance at the HSBC World sevens rugby series after taking over from then injured Andrew Amonde of Kenya Commercialbank (KCB).

Shujaa coach Innocent Simity together with his Lionesses side Kevin Wambua named their respective squad ahead of the games together with Hong Kong sevens.

Simiyu has made two changes to the side that reached the cup final in Canada, handing a debut to Ian Minjire while Augustine Lugonzo returns after missing out in North America due to personal commitments. They replace Samuel Ng’ethe and Erick Ombasa.

The Lionesses have named twelve players for the HSBC Women’s Sevens World Series qualifiers in Hong Kong but will have thirteen players in Gold Coast when Stacy Awuor links up with the team there.
