Athletics Kenya begun their journey of inspecting various athletics training camps across the country in a move to eradicate doping menace in the country.
Today, a team of Athletics Kenya officials made their first visit at the Complete Sports athletes Training based in kaptagat, Uasin Gishu County following last month’s announcement that they will be moping out renegades.
Led by AK Youth Committee chairman Barnaba Korir said that the facility was good.
“This is a follow on from what the Athletics Kenya announced a month ago on situations of athletics camps, coaches, athletes’ representatives and managers will be done,” said Korir.
Korir, who also serves at the AK Nairobi region chairman, said that they will consider the camp, if completed, which will be one of the best in the country as far as the structures are concerned.
“As athletics Kenya we want to know how these camps are run, to ensure that athletics in the country is run professionally, and the camps that are established are registered, have their own constitution or rules guiding them. This is the first one and we think we will be visiting others as time goes by,” he added.
