Sudan were the surprise winners against Nigeria in their second pool D match at the African nations Championships (CHAN) played at the Amaan stadium in Zanzibar.
Sudan, which drew in the first match against Congo in the opening match won 4-0 in a one sided match. The Super Eagles went down in the 25th minute when Leonard Ngenge scored in his net for 1-0 lead then Ngenge went ahead to handle the ball in the box to hand Congo a penalty with Walieldin Khedr converting for 2-0 into break.
On return, Abdel Raouf scored a brace in the 55th and 62nd to seal the 4-0 win. This was the second loss to Super eagles, who lost 1-0 in the opening match to championships Senegal. Senegal played to a 1-1 draw against Congo in an earlier match.
With the victory, Congo leads the four nations pool with 4 points and 4 goals, followed by Senegal with four points and a goal, then Congo on 2 points with 0 goals as Nigeria tail with 0 points and -5 goals.
