Crested Cranes, the Ugandan national football team beat Harambee Starlets in Cecafa Women tournament kicked off today in Kigali, Rwanda.

Lilian Mutuuzo scored the lone goal to inflict the win againt Kenyan side, which was revenge after Kenya eliminated Ugandans from the Africa Women Cup of Nation on 1-0 aggregate.
Mutuuzo scored in the 7th minute at Nyamirambo stadium as Kenya prepares to play defending champions Tanzania. The match will be the repeat of 2016 finals when Starlets lost to Tanzania at the final.
Starlets had chances to score, the closest being a Mwanahalima Adam effort that went against the bar after 18 minutes.
Another loss will dampen their hopes of clinching the title.
This year’s Championship is being played in a round robin format. After facing Tanzania, David Ouma’s girls will take on Ethiopia on Wednesday before winding down their campaign with a tie against hosts Rwanda on Friday
