The National Sevens Circuit now shifts to the Dala Sevens, scheduled for the upcoming weekend on August 1 – 2 at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu, following the successful conclusion of the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru, which served as the opening leg of this year’s circuit.
Kisumu Rugby Club Organising Secretary Annie Wanjiru said preparations for the tournament were at an advanced stage, with the organisers looking forward to hosting teams and fans for another exciting weekend of rugby.
“Preparations for the Dala Sevens are well underway, and we are delighted to welcome the National Sevens Circuit to Kisumu. We are looking forward to an exciting weekend at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium and we invite rugby fans from Kisumu and across the country to come out in large numbers, support their teams and enjoy the Dala Sevens experience.”
The Dala Sevens will be staged at the same venue where KCB Rugby sealed the overall National Sevens Circuit title last season, adding further significance to the Kisumu leg.
KCB Rugby also made the perfect start to their title defense, overcoming Kabras Sugar 19 –12 in a thrilling Prinsloo Sevens final at Nakuru Athletics Club on Sunday to claim the opening leg of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit.
The Dala Sevens will be the second leg of the six-round circuit, which will subsequently move to Kabeberi Sevens in Nairobi (August 15–16), Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa (August 22 – 23), Embu Sevens (September 5 – 6) and Christie Sevens in Nairobi (September 12 – 13).
