David Wakhu played six under 65 in the 4th and final round to win the first leg of Safari Tour golf tournament that came to a close today at Nyali Golf and Country Club.
The Golf Park golfer was the surprise winner of the first leg in the run up to the 2019 Kenya Open Golf tournament that will be staged at Karen Golf club.

The champion completed the tour with level gross (284) in the four rounds. He started badly in the first round with 6 over 77 followed by one over 72 in the second and improved to one under 70 in the penultimate third round and closing on a better swing with six under 65 in the fourth and final round.
H defeated veteran golfer Dismas Indiza by three shots to win the title. Indiza from Mumias took charge in the penultimate round four when he fired five under 66 but on the last round four, he sunk four over 75 as Wakhu fired six under to claim the title.
First and second round winner with level par 71 and two over 73 respectively, Erick Ooko from Royal finished a distance 4th with his one over par 72 in the last round.
Windsor’s Rizwan Charania completed the podium with his two under par 69 in the last round.
