Demoted Vihiga United and Mount Kenya United (MKU) registered mixed results as National Super League (NSL) kicked off today.
Vihiga who last played in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) humiliated Migori Youth 3-1 while MKU lost 0-3 to Bidco United.
Dennis Wafula started the season on high, netting a hat-trick for Vihiga in the 17th, 65th and 73rd minutes as Gerald Odhiambo scored a consolation for Migori.
But MKU received baptism of fire in the second tier following their 0-3 whipping by Bidco. Nelson Chieta (24), David Orem (54) and Emmanuel Mogaka (60) were on target for Bidco.
In other results, Talanta were 3-1 winners over newly promoted Vihiga Bullets with Antony Oginga netting a brace and Brian Juma scoring a goal for Talanta while Jackson Oketch netted a consolation for debutants.
