Despite messing up at major championships across the world, Eglay Nalianya will be hoping to make amends as she searches for a national ticket for 2020 Olympic Games as well as Africa Athletics championships.
In all major races, the track mistress says she has never been in a medal bracket but that will come to an end in 2020 as she trains for Africa Athletics events to be hosted in Togo and Olympics Games in Tokyo Japan.
“I have missed a medal bracket for long but am looking forward for one. I failed to compete for Kenya at world championships in Doha after finishing 4th,” said Nalianya who lost at the All Africa Games in the heats.
The 800m specialists has hopes of making it a double at the two major championships, running in 800m as well as 1,500m to increase her chances of winning a medal in two races.
She said that she has had bad training programme since the lacks someone to give her directions.
“I have had many lessons this and past years since 2015 when I started professional running. But come next year, I would have gained much experience to secure a medal in any of the two races,” said Nalianya.
She added that once she has been given a training programme by her coach, she has never failed to complete though without closer mornitation to see if what she was doing was right.
“If am given a wrong programme and no one is there to direct me, then when I mess but currently, am working on some skills to end that. Remember at the mess I made during world relays in Japan. It was a silly mistake,” added Nalianya.
