, The 2022 Eldoret City marathon will be taking place this Sunday in Eldoret after marking of the route wqas completed today.
The route, which covers the scenic Eldoret town and its environs, the athletes will cover the same course like that of last year.
Today, double Boston marathon champion Moses Tanui after completion of route marking said that all system are set for the 4th edition of the race, one of the most paying in the country.
Tanui the former Vienna City marathon said all systems are in place for the race that is highly paying across the continent where winners for both men and women will pocket Sh3.5 million.
The race organisers said they have been putting measures in place to ensure the race attains global standards.
“We are marking the last Sunday for the marathon. We have gone and marked the route. We know the police have done something. For the technical team has done their job. We have marked all the kilometres and we are ready for the marathon,” he said.
Uasin Gishu deputy County commander Zacchaeus Ng’eno said that some parts of the roads will be closed to allow the smooth flow of the event.
“We made our deployment by briefing various commanders on this activity on Sunday. We have gone through the route and we want to ask the residents that on Sunday from 5:30am, some routes will be closed,” said Ngeno.
