Chess Kenya president Bernard Wanjala is optimistic that over 450 chess players will be facing off at this year’s Kenya Chess Open Chess Tournament that starts on Thursday to Monday at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi.
Wanjala said that the tournament will tough and competitive in the four-day tournament, which is divided into categories including open, ladies’, veterans’, persons who have disabilities, universities and a section for juniors.
From Nairobi, the federation will stage another event in Kisii between April 23 and 26 and where 5,000 participants are expected.
