Olympic 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi and youngster Phanuel Kipkosgei Koech recorded victories in today evening London Diamond League in Great Britain.
After setting the 1,500m under 20 world record last week at the Ostrava Games at Ostrava Games, Koech won the 1,500m title with a meet record of 3:28.82 to win the men’s 1500m.
The 18 year old edged out an Olympics silver medalist Josh Kerr to second in 3:29.37 as Isaac Nader of Portugal came third in 3:31.55.
Wanyonyi defeated world 800m champion Marco Arop to win the 800m title at 1:42.00 with Arop coming second at 1:42.22 with Max Burgin of Great Britain finished third at 1:42.36.
