The reigning Olympic Games 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi stunned top athletes to win the 1500m at the Grand Slam Track in Kingston, Jamaica.
Wanyonyi, who has been competing in the 800m defeated Olympic 1,500m bronze medallist Yared Nuguse and world 800m champion Marco Arop for the title.
Others in the race were the Olympic 1500m silver medallist Josh Kerr as Wanyonyi won the title in 3:35.18 ahead of Nuguse who managed second at 3:35.36 with Olympic champion Cole Hocker completing the podium at 3:35.52
Other results Kenyan Susan Ejore was 5th in the 800m and silver in the 1,500m with Nikki Hiltz of USA winning.
Ethiopia’s Diribe Weltiji, a world silver medalist who finished second in the 800m.
