Olympic and world 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi will headline the two-day Diamond League finals in Brussels that starts tomorrow, Friday September 4th to Saturday Sept-26 5th.
The Kenyan Wanyonyi won the Zurich ahead of Algerian Djamel Sedjati in in 1:41.76 as they battle to to break the world record of 1:40.91 set by David Lekuta Rudisha way back win 2012 during the London Olympic Games.
Wanyonyi who holds the 1km world record set in Monaco last month, is optimitic for Rudisha’s mark.
Wanyonyi will be up against Canada’s Marco Arop the former world champion as well as Sedjati and France’s Gabriel Tual.
