Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) remains the best team to battle for top honours at the final leg of Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) rugby sevens set for this weekend in Nairobi.
After winning their third title in Eldoret over the weekend, MMUST leads table standing with 66 points, seven better than second placed The University of Eldoret (UOE) with 59 points and 21 points better than Kabraka University who have collected 45 points after 4th leg round.
After failing to compete at the opening leg in Meru, MMUST has won three out of four meetings after they went ahead to claim the second leg in Mombasa collecting 22 points won at their backyard two weeks ago and added their third for a total of 66 points.
It becomes the first team to win all finals they have so far played.
With the 5th and last leg set for Nairobi university ground, the overall title remains a two horse race between MMUST and UOE.
The Eldoret based institution 19 points in Meru after losing the final to Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, collected 12 in Mombasa, 15 at the MMUST and 13 at Moi University.
