Five Kenyans share Betika jackpot millions

In a historic turn of events, leading gaming firm, Betika, has today officially crowned eight new millionaires from the Must Be Won Jackpot, each walking away with KES 6.3 Million.

The monumental payout marks the conclusion of the second eight-week Must Be Won Jackpot cycle, a unique initiative where the KES 50 Million grand prize was guaranteed to be won, regardless of whether a player correctly predicted all 15 matches.

By reaching the end of the cycle window, the prize was split among the top performers who managed 13 correct picks out of the possible 15.

Among those celebrating is Beatrice Njoki Ngari, a 77-year-old tea and coffee farmer from Kirinyaga County whose son, Joseph Mwai, used her mobile line to play the jackpot.

For Joseph Muchangi Mwai, a resident of Njoro in Nakuru County, the win is a family milestone. The father of one, who placed his winning bet just this past Friday, now looks forward to a future of newfound financial security alongside his wife, Claire.

“I could hardly believe it when I heard the news,” said winner Joseph Muchangi Mwai. “I was just doing my usual routine in Njoro when the call came. This win is for my son, Myles, and my wife. It’s a blessing that will change how we live and how we plan for the future.”

The celebration continued as other winners shared their stories of perseverance. Chebii Musa Chepchieng, a former matatu driver from Nakuru who has been a loyal Betika player for nine years, finally saw his dedication pay off. In Nairobi, Duncan Ouma Oliech from Kibera and Joseph Mutua Wambua from Kasarani—a hawker of mitumba shoes—joined the ranks of the new millionaires. The list is rounded out by Raphael Moi Pambo from Kisii, Zachayo Kanyaru Njogu from Nyeri, and Royford Gitonga Mutuerandu from Meru, each of whom successfully navigated the Jackpot to claim their share of the prize.

“Today is a landmark day not just for Betika, but for the entire Kenyan gaming industry,” stated Eric Mwiti, the Betika Group Head of Brand. “By delivering on our promise of a guaranteed KES 50 Million payout through this eight-week cycle, we have reached a historic milestone. This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about eight individuals and their families whose lives are being transformed today. We are proud to honor the skill and persistence of our players in such a significant way. The impact is big on the community and we urge people to continue playing responsibly.”

This 50 Million payout stands as a testament to Betika’s commitment to transparency and rewarding the passion of its community. By ensuring the prize is awarded even in the absence of a perfect score, the brand continues to redefine the gaming experience in Kenya, fostering a culture of winning that is both inclusive and life-altering.
