Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is on the road to hold elections for the second time following the nullification of the previous elects by Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) following today’s Special General Meeting (SGM).
Today, the federation adopted the electoral code where 69 of the 78 delegates voted in approval of the formation of a new Electoral Code as well as the formulation of a fresh Electoral Board.
Despite majority of the clubs adopting the report, Kenya football giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards abstained.
During the meeting, it was agreed that all sub-branches from the 290 constituencies will hold their elections after March.
Three of the officials from the sub-branches will join the 47 counties officials to participate and manage football leagues at the grassroots.
The highlight of it all was the unveiling on five board members, and three standby members, as well as the new electoral code, both which were approved by the members present, save for a few who abstained.
Kentice Tikolo, Patrick Mathew Onyango, Ali Hassan Kauleni, Alfred Ndinya Jawuor, and Samuel Karanja will make up the new board while Racheal Muthoga, Elaine Mbugua, and Andrew Mudibo will be the standby board members.
