Gaspo Women and Nakuru West Queens proceeded into the play-offs semifinals with the wins against their opponents in today’s opening fixtures at the Nakuru ASK ground.
In the first match Gaspo from Zone A outplayed Zone B’s Wadadia 5-0 to qualify into the semifinal play-offs.
Elizbeth Wambu and Corazone Aquino bagged a hat-trick and a brace to win the match. Aquino netted first in the 16th minute for a 1-0 lead as Wambui grabbed the second for a 2-0 win in the 35th minute into break.
On resumption, as Aquino bagged a brace in the 53rd minute before Wambui scored the 3rd in the 65th minute as
Wambui got her hat-trick after scoring the fifth goal for Gaspo, sealing the full-time scores at 5-0.
Following the win, Gaspo will face off with champions Vihiga Queens 25th June.
In the second match, Nakuru Queens proceeded after beating Ulinzi Starlets 5-4 in post match penalties following a 2-all draw.
Rebecca Okwaro scored first in the 10th minute for Nakuru but Ulinzi’s Lucy Mukhwana levelled in the 25th minute before Ulinzi Starlets got their third goal through Lucy Mukhwana in the 40th minute bagging her brace. In the 61st minute, Nakuru Queens equalized forcing the match into penalties to book a date with zone A leaders on Friday, June 25, 2021.
