Played under floodlight, Kwale Starlets will battle for Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Coast regional titles on Sunday evening Changamwe Ladies following their triumph in today’s semifinals at Bomu stadium.
In boys category battle line is drawn between Mombasa’s Shimanzi Youth and Malindi’s Maweni United for title chase.
Kwale Starlets came from a goal down to down Changamwe Ladies 5:3 to seal final while Maindi’s Solwogidi won against Matsangaoni Ladies scoring 6-5 in post matc h penalties.
In boys category, Mombasa’s Shimanzi Youth and Malindi’s Maweni United will battle it out for the title.
Shimanzi Youth came from two goals down to beat Kaloleni United from Mombasa 4-3 while Maweni United thrashed Kilifi’s Matsangaoni Stars 4-1.
The finals will be played in the evening under floodlights with the first match set to kick-off at 6.00pm.
Winners will join Kajiado’s Al Ahly and Kitale Queens from Rift Valley, Bishop Njenga Girls and Lugari Blue Saints from Western, Manyatta Boys and Ndhiwa Queens from Nyanza as well as Super Solico and St Mary’s Ndovea from Eastern have booked their tickets for the national finals.
This year, an all-star team will be selected to attend a training camp in Spain during which they will play against local youth sides. The competition aims at scouting for youth talent, developing grassroots football, and ultimately propel gifted players to the national team.
