Reigning 7s champions KCB Rugby defeated their rivals Kabras Sugar in their last pool D match at the ongoing Kabeberi 7s played at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.
The bankers edged out series leaders Kabras 12-07 to book for main cup quarterfinals as pool leaders set for tomorrow against Kenyatta University side Blak Blad who finished second in pool C.
Despite the loss. Kabras managed to finish second in the pool and will play their ‘cousins’ Menengai Oilers, the pool C winners. This will be the repeat of Dala 7s final when Kabras beat Menengai to won the title. Still in Dala 7s, Menengai edged out KCB in the quarterfinals.
Kenya Harlequin led pool A ahead of Daystar Falcons. Pool leaders Quins will now take on pool B runners up Mwamba while Falcons play pool B winners Strathmore Leos in the university derby.
