Kenya’s Bethwel Birgen won the 3,000m world Athletics Indoor title while Qualine Kiprop finished second in Karlsruhe, in Spain.
Birgen, who won the title back in 2008 defeated the Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew and Kenyan Justus Soget from Toronto training camp in Baringo for the title.
He crossed the finish line in 7:38.50 with Balew coming second in 7:50.93 and Soget completing the podium position in 7:41.31.
In women, Kiprop finished second behind the winner Fantu Worku from Ethiopia and Albanian Luiza Gega.
Coming from Torongo, Kiprop crossed the finish line in 8:40.27 with Worku winning in 8:37.58 with Gega ending the podium with an 8:44.46.
