Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia extended the KPL table lead with a win against Perennual rivals AFC Leopards at Kasarani stadium today.
The 16-time national champions defeated Leopards 2-1 in the Mashemeji Derby. Jaques Tuyiesnge netted the first goal before Whyvonne Isuza levelized and George Odhiambo sealed the victory for two-time Sportpesa Super Cup champions.
Leopards got the ball rolling in this 84th meeting between the two nemeses after a minute of silence in honour of the mother of former Harambee Stars captain Dennis Oliech, Mary Auma Oliech, who died on Friday after a long battle with cancer.
