Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia has fired their head coach Leo Neiva following the team’s poor performance in the recent matches.
With assistant coach Zedekiah Ziko Otieno taking up the mantle om interim basis, Leo, who has worked with the 21 time champions for three months, his contract was terminated after dropping 10 points from four matches.
In recent days, the champions beat Poster Rangers, drew with KCB 2-2, lost 2-1 to Nairobi City Stars, another 2-all draw against Murang’a Seal and a 2-0 loss to Bandari to leave them in position 12 on the table on eight points, nine behind leaders KCB.
The team posted on their social media saying: “The decision was made after the club management invoked a contractual clause leading to the end of the coach’s tenure effective immediately.
Neiva replaced Jonathan McKinstry who retained the title.
