Gor Mahia stamped the Kenya Premier League (KPL) authority, extending the lead following their win against Nzoia Sugar.
The reigning KPL champions came from a goal down to down the sugar millers 2-1 in a rescheduled match at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
Geoffrey Okoth netted the winner with five minutes remaining on the clock, heading in an Erissa Ssekisambu freekick to add on to Francis Mustapha’s first half effort that had cancelled out Hansel Ochieng’s opener just two minutes into the game.
Gor who have now played three games in the space of six days move up to 41 points courtesy of the win, five more than their closest challengers and now with the benefit of having played a game less.
Nzoia on their part continue to struggle, with the loss being the millers’ seventh in nine outings and which leaves them in 12th place with 21 points.
