Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia and FKF Cup Champions Tusker have landed tough opponents at the preliminary round of qualifiers into the top ranked football.
According to the draw conducted today, Gor, who will be competing at the VAF champions league will start the campaign against reigning African champions Pyramids FC of Egypt.
Gor will host the opening leg between September 4 and 6 before travelling to Egypt for the return fixture from September 11 to 13 and the winning team on aggregate will face off with either South Sudan’s El Merreikh Bentiu or Somalia’s Heegan FC in the second preliminary qualifier where the aggregate winner will secure a place in the Champions League group stage.
Tusker, who will play in the CAF Confederation Cup start their campaign against Sudan’s Al Ahli Madani and a win on aggregate will take on either Sudan’s Al Ghazala SC or Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars with the winner heading into the group stages.
