FKF Cup Champions Gor Mahia started their CAF Confederation Cup campaign on a high following their victory against their hosts Al Ahly Merowe at the Suez Canal stadium.
Gor defeated Merowe 1-3 of South Sudan in a match played in Egypt since South Sudan lacks a CAF Licensed stadium to host such matches.
The champions came from a goal down to win 1-3 with the hosts scoring in the 41st minute heading into break 1-0 up.
But on resumption, Samuel Onyango restored the parity in the 58th minute after converting a penalty before youngster Benson Omala double the score for 1-2 lead and Burundi’s import Jules Ulimwengu sealed the victory for the visitors.
