Government bailout Kenya Lionesses ahead of Dubai Invitational

The Kenyan government has approved that Kenya lionesses, the national rugby women team will compete at the Dubai invitational sevens tournament.

The Kenya Rugby Union had complained that the federation did not have money to support the team travel to Doha in the opener of IRB Rugby Series.

And today, the government purchased 16 air tickets, 12 for the players and four for the technical bench.  The team is expected to leave today.

Speaking director of women’s rugby Moses Ndale confirmed that the team will travel for the two day invitational event which will serve as preparation for the World seven series in Hong Kong in March and the Olympic games in Tokyo next year.
