GSU bounce back as KPA fall at Africa volleyball championships in Tunis

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league champions General service Unit (GSU) came from a set down to beat Nigeria Customs in their second match of the Africa Men Club volleyball championships in Tunis, Tunisia.

After losing the opener in their pool D to five-time champions Zamalek on straight sets but they bounced back in style to dispatch the Nigerians with sets of 23-25, 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18.

Their counterparts, who won the opening fixture, they lost the second match hosts Esperance 3-0 sets (25-27, 25-11, 25-13) with the defeat complicating their chances of qualifying to the quarter finals.

KPA picked two points in their opening fixture against APR of Rwanda after the tie served up a gripping five-setter ending in favour of the Mombasa based side and Monday’s defeat means they must win in straight sets in their final Group ‘A’ fixture against Rukinzo of Burundi Tuesday.
