Reigning Kenya Volleyball League champions General Service Unit (GSU) and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) were crowned the champions of Dr Arthur Odera Volleyball Open tournament that came to an end this evening at Katakwa secondary school in Busia County.
GSU won against their arch-rivals Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to win the title in a five-setter thriller after coming from two sets down in an entertaining final.
The mailmen won the first two sets of 22-25 and 21-25 but the servicemen came out strongly to claim the last three sets of 25-19, 28-26 and 15-12 for the title.
At the semi-finals, GSU defeated Bungoma County 3-0 (25-15, 25-16 and 25-12) while KPA were 3-1 winners against Equity Bank in 25-19, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-14).
KCB won their maiden title after winning against Kenya Pipeline in straight sets of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-20.
KPA won against Equity Bank 3-1(25-19, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-14) in the first semi-final while KCB won against Bungoma County 3-0(25-13,25-15,25-12) to book for final match.
