Harambee Starlets, the national women football team has moved seven steps up in the latest FIFA Ranking.
The Beldine Odemba coached side moved from 156 to the current 149 in the world FIFA Ranking released on March 3rd following their significant performance against Tunisia in the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
Tunisia managed to hold Kenya to a barren draw but they set a good revenge, winning away by a solitary goal to make it to the secon round and will be facing off with The Gambia in the final qualifier.
The international rankings play a crucial role in a team’s reputation, affecting tournament seedings and opportunities for high-profile matches and Kenya is now ranked third in East Africa behind Ethiopia and Tanzania.
