Harambee Stars fall to Gabon in FIFA World Cup qualifiers match

Gabon came from a goal down to beat Kenya’s Harambee Stars in their opening match of the 2026 FIFAld Cup qualifiers in Franceville, Gabon this evening.

After scoring in the first half, the Engin Firat team went ahead to lose 2-1 to the hosts when Amos Nondi scored first in the 40th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead into the break.

But failing to control the ball, the hosts leveled the score through Denis Bounga, who beat Kenya’s keeper Patrick Matasi and for 1-1 and Guelor Kanga sealed the win for the west Africans.
