Harambee Stars, the national men’s football team was held to a barren draw by Africa Champions Ivory Coast during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers played at the Bingu National stadium in Lilongwa in Malawi yesterday.
After reording 100% victories, Kenya managed to hold Ivory coast that leads pool F where the Engin Firat boys lost numerous chances that could have seen the country win against the west Africans.
Kenya remains third in the group on five points while the Ivorians move to 10 on top
Coach Engin Firat had stuck to the team that started against Burundi in midweek, but only made one change, Alphonce Omija coming in for his debut and starting at right back.
Kenya will now look into the next window in March with optimism, hoping they can build on from the confidence picked from the match to try battle for a win
