National football men’s team Harambee Stars played out to a barren draw against Russia in an international friendly match played in Russia.
The Engin Firat coached side put up a spirited effort to claim a 2-all draw with Russia scoring in the last minutes to secure a point when Kenya was headed for the first ever victory against Russia.
The hosts scored first when Spartak Moscow player Alexander Sobolev scored in the 10th minute to hand Russia a 1-0 lead.
With Stars keeper Bryne Odhiambo substituted over injury threats Patrick Matasi filled between the posts then Sogan Tosu Anthony Okumu canceled the score for a 1-1 draw in the 18th minute before Masoud Juma gave Stars the lead in the 24th minute for 1-2 up into the break.
On return, Russia pushed Kenya into their own half and in the dying minutes of the game,substitute Ivan Oblyakov scored the 2-2 equlaizer.
