Kenya’s Harambee Stars has been knocked out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals after drawing with Zimbabwe in today’s qualifiers playing in South Africa.
The Engin Firat boys managed to hold Zimbabwe to a 1-1 draw in a must win encounter for Kenya to aspire to compete at the AFCON finals set for Morocco in January.
After the draw, Kenya will be taking on their final pool match against Namibia on Tuesday, a match that will not have any impact for the two teams since Cameroon and Zimbabwe have already qualified.
Kenya had to come from a goal down to draw against Zimbabwe after Jonah Ayunga’s 52nd ,minute goal had to cancel Tawanda Maswanhise’s goal that was scored in the 32nd minute.
After five matches, Kenya has picked five points, one win, two draws and two losses.
