Harambee Stars may miss international assignments- Mwendwa

Harambee Stars risk missing to compete at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and world cup qualifiers for lack of funding from the national government.

According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president, the federation has not received any funding from the Ministry of Sport.

Mwendwa expressed frustration saying the Federation has sunk into debt in way of funding the team activities may fail because the dependence on the government funding.

He singled Sports Permanent Secretary Peter Kaberia as the person behind the federation’s financial woes, accusing him of turning a deaf ear and a blind eye on all matters funding for the national teams.

Stars is set to start the 2021 AFCON qualifiers in November and the federation made follow up for up to four times with no response from the ministry.
