Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari were the only teams that recorded victory in today’s Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches.
At the Bukhungu stadium in Kakamega, Homeboyz were 2-1 winners against former champions Tusker to record their maiden win in the league that entered round three this weekend.
Ambrose Sifuna and Moses Shumah scored for Homeboyz in the 3rd and 15th minute before Tusker’s Erick Zakayo halved the score in the 71st minute.
Tusker FC assistant coach George Maina was disappointed on how his team was defending especially in the first half when they leaked-in two quick goals.
“We did not defend well, loose marking by my defenders allowed Homeboyz to sneak in and that costed us the three points.” He said.
However his counterpart Patrick Odhiambo said his boys played well despite the heavy rains that poured in the second half and affected the flow of the match.
He said that the field became very field slippery for players and defenders found it hard.
“The game was tough coming with victory. The game was hard in the second half as our opponents came guns blazing but we tried to work together for victory,” said Odhiambo.
