Hosea Kipkemboi runs Bucharest marathon with a course record

Hosea Kipkemboi returned to Bucharest marathon with a win following his second finish last year.

The Kenyan runners won the IAAF Bronze Label marathon with a course record of 2:11.32 ahead of Joel Kimutai timing 2:11:59 as Ethiopia’s Kaleb Kashebo was third in 2:13:22.

Ethiopia’s Almaz Gelana defended her title, clocking 2:41:29 to win by almost nine minutes.

Gelana was unopposed in the women’s contest. Her winning time was 27 seconds quicker than her mark from last year.
