She started her day with faith of winning a major title in her golfing career.
And today Faith Mburu’s faith came true as she won Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) golf tournament that sponsored Captain’s prize played today on nine Eldoret Golf club.
Playing on home course, Mburu carded a solid 43 stable ford points to claim the title that attracted 88 golfers with Captain Jack Tuwei paving way for Geoffrey Kitiwa to take over for another one year.
Handicap 19 golfer said that what made her win was because it was a big tournament and she has always wanted to be number one that is why she put up a spirited bundled with faith and decided she was going to win.
“I always wanted to play good golf because of my faith on the course. I played well and that has finally given great results,” said Mburu.
With dry season, Mburu was not shaken by the running ball on the course.
“The dry course did not affect my swing because there was a nice linage I used. I played my game, hoped for the best and it came. Every day is different and hope to win the next win,” added Mburu.
She managed to defeat namesake Faith Chemutai from Nandi Bears with a single point. Handicap 22, Chemutai carded 42 points before teenager Ishaan Nathaani completing the podium with 40 points before Nandi Bears Moses Muge came fourth with 39 points.
KAA General manager Alex Gitari said the turn out was good and achieved their goal and purpose of the sponsorship.
“We achieved our goal after meeting the people who uses our services every day,” said Gitari.
