Ian Nzomo takes round one lead at Kenya Seed Classic

Teenager Ian Nzomo sunk four birdies to take to the summit on the opening day of Kenya Seed Classic golf tournament played today at Kitale golf course as he chases the in-calf heifer, which will be given to the champion.

Handicap 14 golfer, played 67 net enjoy day one lead in the first round of the two rounds that ends on Sunday.

Enjoying home ground, Nzomo played 33 net with in the opening nine after sinking two birdies, three pars, three bogeys and one double bogey.

He started with back to back pars went down with double bogey, bogey and recovered with back to back birdies on holes 5 and 6 on pars three and five before adding a bogey, par and a bogey to end the first nine.

He returned with low shots of 34 in the second nine, he sunk two birdies on holes eleven and 18 on pars 5 and 4 respectively, and several bogeys and pars to claim top spot before the final round on Sunday

He was followed another home golfer Pradip Shah who netted 70 as Kenyan ambassador to India Willy Bett who completed the podium with 70 nett.

John Bore Chemogos came a distance 4th with 72 nett tying with John Anyonyi, who had the lowest Gross score of four over 77 Gross.

Eldoret’s Aaron Kitur came 6th with a net score of 72
