Increase federation officials time in office for five years, not four…

Football Kenya Federation is seeking to increase the number of years that an elected member of federation will remain in the office.

Today, the FKF CEO Harold Ndege has proposed that term limits for elected sports officials should be five years unlike today’s 4 years each to two terms.

Speaking today during the Ministry of Sports stakeholders’ forum to review the Kenya’s sports policy, legal, and institutional framework, Ndege argued that aligning federation officials’ terms with the national government’s five-year cycle would promote consistency and better policy implementation.

If approved, the change would allow elected sports officials to serve up to 10 years, as opposed to eight years

He also wants the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) to be granted first-instance jurisdiction in disputes, rather than functioning primarily as an appellate body.
